Bloom Box

A game about trying to open a strange artifact. Overall Winner of Godot Wild Jam 94, created by James McVitty and Callum Thomas.

About

Three challenges stand between you and the secrets of the "Terra Artifact". Otherwise referred to as "the box", what it contains is a mystery which you have volunteered to try and solve, in the name of science... and perhaps in the name of shady government projects.

Handle this "box" with care. Try not to be exposed to too many of its MTB rays. And if you fail... maybe the next impressionable young volunteer will.

Controls

Point, click, and drag. Esc. to toggle pause/options menu.

No controller support.

Tips for difficulty

  • In the second minigame (drag the electrode): drag the mouse slightly ahead of the electrode. It will travel directly to the mouse and smooth out any jitters in your mouse movement.
  • Third minigame (click all the nodules before time runs out): Make your window size smaller to make clicking all the nodules easier due to less mouse travel. Note: macOS mouse smoothing makes this harder. Sorry!

This game was absolutely fire! It's amazing how you two managed to make this masterpiece within only 9 days. For a game jam, this is really polished and detailed.

Thank you!!

Awesome game, I'm a huge horror fan and the concept is one of the coolest I've heard in a while! Gameplay was really good too, and sound was great. Overall, a fantastic experience! Great job!

Thank you for the kind words!

Thanks so much for playing! Yes Children of the Clay and the early iPod touch era escape room games were a big inspiration for this project. Glad to hear you enjoyed it so much.

Thanks for playing and sharing the gameplay! Callum and I had a blast watching this. I think it's safe to say you are the first person not on the dev team to speedrun the game on those subsequent playthroughs!

Glad you enjoyed the game and the story, and thanks for the kind words.

All I'll say is: keep an ear out for a clue. Or perhaps phone a friend.;)
